Responsibilities
Install, monitor and support
advanced functions of Windows and Linux operating systems and related
applications.
Will be assigned responsibility
for advanced technical issues in the environment for problem resolution.
Diagnoses and repair system
problems working closely with Vendor support for all servers, software and
other hardware.
Define, monitor, optimize and trouble
shoot system performance.
Must work well within a team and
possess strong written and oral communication skills. Be heavily involved in
working with project teams, may lead project initiatives.
Maintain and monitor compliance
to security policies.
Must be able to operate
independently in the absence of strict guidance to correct issues and improve
the environment.
Must possess strong problem
solving and troubleshooting skills in enterprise level environments, being able
to logically step through issues and troubleshoot problems by thinking outside
of the box and being creative with solutions.
Must be willing to work in an on
call team.
Requirements
Candidate must possess a Linux
certification for at least one distribution (RedHat, CentOS, Debian, SuSE,
Fedora or Ubuntu) along with CCNA.
2-4+ years as a Linux Systems
Administrator working in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Knowledge of
Windows Server systems would be an advantage.
Good personality skills for
dealing with vendors.
You must be willing to train and
also be trained.
Experience lately in a high load
web infrastructure system on Linux systems.
Strong experience with one of the
following web servers Apache, NGINX or lighttpd.
Deep understanding for debugging
and resolving issues on operating system level.
QMAIL, Exim, LDAP, tinydns, bind,
vsftpd, ssh, ip-tables
Protocols: FTP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP,
SSH, NFS
Scripting in one of the following
languages perl, bash, python, ruby or php.
A solid understanding of TCP/IP
network concepts and network trouble-shooting.
Must have experience in VMware,
HP C Class Blades, SAN experience and associated troubleshooting.
Hands on familiarity with
replacing server hardware components.
Experience in maintaining systems
in enterprise class data centre environments.
