Role & Responsibilities
Define, design, and deliver new software protocols/features
and control-plane features for the UCS Fabric Interconnect platform. As UCS is
entering its next phase, there are multiple new projects like 4th Gen FI, NJ
Standalone, ACI integration that are getting started and the hire is expected
to play a critical role in these projects. Participate on a project team of
engineers involved in the development of software for our current and next
generation data center UCS Fabric Interconnect product family, with emphasis in
the layer 2 protocols and platforms area. Define, design, and deliver new
software protocols/features data-plane and control-plane features for the UCS
Fabric Interconnect platform. Work also involves providing constant feedback to
hardware and software teams for improvements. There will be close interactions
with other UCS teams like management, firmware and hardware teams. Write
complete functional and design specs independently. There are opportunities to
take management leadership roles going forward.
Minimum Qualifications
10-18 years of overall software experience
Should have experience in developing systems from scratch
with good architecture, design and coding skills.
Experience in packet forwarding asics and programming sdk,
hal layers.
In depth experience in Ethernet switching/forwarding and
Platform/control-plane infrastructure software.
Strong C programming skills.
BS CS/CE is required, MS CS/CE is preferred.
Desired Skills
RTOS/embedded experience ( Cisco OS, VxWorks, PSOS, Linux
OS)
Hands on experience on switch/router embedded system
software development.
Strong problem solving and software
development/troubleshooting skills.
Experience with L2 and L3 Networking protocols.
